In the next series of our careers blogs we discuss all things CV. Starting with the must dos and the must do nots!

What to leave out:

• The heading ‘Curriculum Vitae’
• Your date of birth
• Your driving licence
• Getting too personal
• Photographs
• Irrelevant training courses

To write a powerful and convincing CV you must:

• Be clear what you are selling
• Clear about what you want
• What are you offering
• Try not to be an all-round all-purpose all wonderful
• Be focused on your personal brand to distinguish yourself from competitors
• Be mindful that you have 30 seconds to make an impression
• Scrutinize with the utmost care
