Following on from last week and our discussion of the importance of team work, this week we are turning our attention to what makes an exceptional team leader?

Perhaps one of the most notable examples is Winston Churchill.

Churchill, a wartime hero, had nothing to offer but “blood, toil, tears and sweat” and yet he rallied a nation. Churchill had a unique grasp of the importance of the English language and its ability to motivate, encourage and ultimately aid a successful war effort. His language skills and ability to see that the path to victory lay in both a confident nation and intelligent warfare undoubtedly aided his reputation as honest, decisive and persistent  – three traits which enabled both Churchill and his team to change the fate of nations.
